They ended the summer camps of Serravalle.
For a decade the Parish of Serravalle manages them, relying on local volunteers and, on occasion, using responses from experienced partners in the field.
All right then, good start: useful for families who know where to spend their free time to their children before the holidays, nice for kids to spend summer days in the company of school holidays.
New this year came from the City of Berra: arguing that many parents of Serravalle, complained to the management of the "Summer Camps Parish", without consulting the parish priest and the organizers to check the situation, organized the same service in collaboration with the ASSP, the company which is a member of social services, putting an in competition with the parish. At the very least disconcerting, in my view, in a small country like ours with a user limited. The results of
are there for all to see: while the number of children and young people who benefited from Serravalle "Municipal Summer Camps" was negligible, two maybe three units, successfully took the parish, with peak presence of thirty children, clearly shows that the famous "complaints," which led to the final action of the City, and many were not.
What is even more disconcerting is the fact of how the Administration, through answers to questions in the Municipal Council, misrepresents the reality, whereas positive initiative failed. It would be better that this administration began to give our community what they need: the one we already have, especially through the efforts of volunteers, requires no special if not moral and economic support.
Summer Camps Parish of July just passed, had no support, either moral or economic: it is morally having the will to take the place by the Administration, in an activity which, as noted above, lasted for more of ten years, economically, contrary to general earlier, the use of the van for the exits to the sea and the pool was not free, will have to arrange for insurance and the driver. There it was arranged without the van of the Municipality.
Collaboration, for those who govern the town of Berra, it is understood one way: when it comes to giving it becomes a "Unknown word."
